Pharmacy department<\/strong><\/p>

The Pharmacy department has been one of the different departments in Bahir Dar Health Science College since the establishment of the college in 1971 G.C. The aim of the department is to train nationally and internationally competitive pharmacy professionals by delivering quality education at intermediate and advanced levels, research and community service, and transfer of knowledge and skills.<\/p>

The Pharmacy department is composed of more than 15 academic staff members, including PhD candidates, lecturers, assistant lecturers in various fields of pharmacy, and two pharmacy technical assistants.<\/p>

Two well-furnished laboratory rooms are currently available and are used for practical sessions and demonstration service. These laboratories also serve as a center for Bahir Dar University students and as a training hub for traditional healers, organized by the University of Gondar and the Amhara Regional Health Bureau.<\/p>

Our department has given advanced pharmacy degree training for former Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) students in collaboration with Bahir Dar University and a couple of batches in Level 4 pharmacy independently. Currently, it offers Level 4 pharmacy for both government-sponsored and self-sponsored students.<\/p>

The department is also working and got a license from the FDRE Education and Training Authority (ETA) for launching an undergraduate program in Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.).<\/p>
